Reputed to be unreliable,dirty, draughty and banished by the new boss of EWS these locos have performed sterling service for over 30 years, and many people cannot remember a time without them! Powerful at their time, they still hold the record for the country's longest single run without service or change of loco - It was to Scotland, but I forget the start.
