IRELAND

This is about the island of this name, not the country. It covers a short holiday in both Ulster and Eire. This was way back, about 1969 or 70, I recollect, because the Ulster Railway still had some steam (just!), as you can see...Ireland as it was. The weather was not good, as you'll see - but maybe it epitomises the Ireland of mists and mountains? No attempt has been made to portray ALL of Ireland - we kept as clear of towns as we were able. I should perhaps offer my Irish credentials? My Maternal Grandfather was a McLaughlin from Waterford - that and a strange stirring whenever I hear the Irish bagpipes or traditional music! The picture below is Dingle Harbour.
