KENT & EAST SUSSEX RAILWAY
WELCOME
This site is the shop-window for the Ashford Area Group supporting the Kent & East Sussex Railway. The group was started in the 70's as a small group of supporters doing what they could for the (then) infant steam railway, which re-opened to passengers in 1974. From monthly meetings to a major annual model rail exhibition, the group has grown in strength and influence, and has now put a 4-wheel wooden carriage on the rails at its own expense. This was found in a back-yard locally, and the restoration at the line funded by the group, and with group members actively taking part.
