Year 2001 - and what a year!
Throughout the year it was constant change as the CTRL new hi-speed rail link to London progressed. Signs can be seen in the images, especially those at the West end, where the enormous new footbridge is prominent in later views. Eastwards, the viaduct over the Canterbury Branch, and over the stopping lines to the tunnel where they regain the new link by passing under the hi-speed line to get to the left. The work also accounts for the many views of class 59s bringing ballast to Sevington at a rate of 3 trains a day at times.
