Here you see Roy Smith, then Senior Driver, on no.2 "Dolgoch" just leaving the bridge that borders Rhydyronen Station, passing the cottage that for many years contained one of the very old drivers from back in Sir Haydn's time. Called Hugh Jones, his sons Dai and Herbert drove the trains till quite recently. Hugh was nearly always at the window to wave to the loco crews as they passed his garden.
