As your train leaves Rannoch Station on the line to Fort William, you see this stone. It is a monument to a local landowner who came to the rescue when the railway was being built. The promoters had run out of money, and this philanthropic gentleman ploughed in some of his own, to complete the task. The stone was cut by grateful navvies who were saved from being thrown out of work.
