If you go on from Catbells, you come first to Maidenmoor, and the view widens out to encompass half, it seems, of all Cumbria. Where there is no human interest, or it seems inappropriate, there's always the odd Herdwick sheep to include. The Herdwick is the breed peculiar to the Lake District, bred very hardy and adaptable (they can do without eating) and don't mind the rain, which is just as well, as it can be 120" a year up there.
