Sandling is a charming little station set in the country, once a junction for Hythe, on the coast. Behind the train can be seen the ornamental tunnel, used to burrow under, and retain the charm of, Saltwood Estate. This is to be opened out for the rail link for the Channel Tunnel, and two more lines laid down, on the left of the picture. This scene is to disappear beofre long.
