This shows one of the old Hastings units, known as "thumpers" (or a very similar unit to them) painted in the Connex South-East colours with the half-black front. It is waiting in Platform 1, the usual platform for Hastings trains and as the line to Hastings in non-electrified, the unit is diesel-electric powered. Behind is the new International Check-in building, with a glimpse to the left of the bridge for passengers from the multi-story car-park.
