Here you can clearly see the railway carriage origin of many residences here. Bear in mind that we are talking of carriages that were old back in the start of the 20th Century! So they were 4-wheel coaches of no great length. The old lighthouse has a shop in the lower part with all sorts of souvenirs, and you can buy tickets to ascend the 80 steps to the top (or is it 180? - I forget) If you look carefully you may see a couple of Union Flags on the lamp veranda, for the Queen's Jubilee. (and the World Cup?)
